Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bregenz
Individual arrival in Bregenz (during the Festival season partly in the neighbouring towns of Wolfurth, Dornbirn or Hard close to the lake), handing out of bicycles and tour information at the Infopoint.
Parking: "Parkplatz West" (subject to availability) approx. 10 minutes' walk from the bike hand-out point, approx. € 7.90/day (payable locally) OR in the central underground car park at the Pfänderbahn. € 115.00 (can only be booked in advance) for 5 nights OR free of charge in neighbouring towns with good rail connections.
Day 2: Bregenz – Güttingen (Cycling 46/56 km / 28/35 miles)
Sightseeing opportunity Bregenz. You cycle through the beautiful parks along the lake, past the Festspielhaus and the Seebühne. Continue to Mehrerau, the only active monastery on Austria's Lake Constance. Continue past numerous bathing opportunities to the Bregenzer Ache. Through the "Altenrhein-Mündung" nature reserve to Staad, and the Swiss towns of Rorschach and Arbon to Güttingen. Overnight stay at the 3* Hotel Güttingen/Egnach.
Day 3: Güttingen – Konstanz/Kreuzlingen (Cycling 26/14 km / 16/9 miles)
Cycle along the shores of Lake Constance to Kreuzlingen and on to Constance. As the stage is short, there is enough time for an extensive sightseeing tour of Constance or for an excursion to the flower island of Mainau, which you reach via a beautiful avenue of plane trees (+ 16 km return journey, admission approx. 23 euros, not included) or to the monastery island of Reichenau (+ 24 km return journey incl. island tour, no admission). Overnight stay in a 3* hotel in Konstanz/Kreuzlingen.
Day 4: Konstanz – Friedrichshafen (Cycling 34 km / 21 miles | 15 minutes by ferry)
In the morning time for individual sightseeing of the flower island Mainau. From Constance you cycle to the ferry to Staad and take the ferry to Meersburg. If you stay overnight in Kreuzlingen, you can reach the ferry in a few minutes. It is also worth making a detour to the pile dwellings in Uhldingen directly after the crossing, which are located within an impressive open-air museum (+ 10 km). Take time to visit the town of Meersburg with its imposing castle and medieval town centre. Those who climb the path to the freshly renovated Fürstenhäusle of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff will be rewarded with a uniquely wide view over the vineyard and Lake Constance. The route then continues along the lake via Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen. The customs office building in the middle of the park and the baroque castle church are among the town's landmarks. Overnight stay in a very good 3* or 4* hotel in Friedrichshafen.
Day 5: Bregenz (Cycling 36 km / 22 miles)
Via Langenargen and Wasserburg we travel to the famous Bavarian island town of Lindau. Enjoy the Mediterranean flair at the harbour and stroll along Maximilianstraße, lined with old craftsmen's and burghers' houses. Cycle the last few kilometres with a beautiful view of the lake back to Bregenz. Before or after dinner, a walk into the upper town of Bregenz with the Martin Tower is recommended. The quiet alleys with medieval buildings will take you back to times long past. Overnight stay in a 3* hotel
Day 6: End of the tour
Please note: All cycling distances stated above are approximate only.

If you wish, you can also reserve 21-gear bikes with freewheel at no extra cost. When booking, please indicate which bikes you prefer. The quality bikes (Schauff, Kettler, KTM) are well maintained and thus ensure worry-free bike rides. When you pick up your bike, you can try it out and the on-site staff will adjust it to your needs.
The e-bikes are 8-speed Kalkhoff bikes (Agattu Impulse or similar) with hub gears, 28" tyres, low step-in with frame heights of 46 or 50 and a daily range of about 80 km (depending on how you ride). The e-bikes have two hand brakes, no e-bikes with coaster brakes are available. For your own safety, we recommend wearing a bike helmet.
Tour profile
The route leads through predominantly flat terrain. The circular route of this tour is excellently signposted and leads directly along the shores of Lake Constance for long stretches. If you would like to spend more time on the bike, you can make some nice detours into the hinterland, to the Uhldingen Lake Dwelling Museum or to Mainau Island.
